What is Autograss?

NEWS FLASH                -                Go on give it a go!!

Autograss is a non-contact sport that takes place on an oval track, made of  a natural soil surface of roughly 400m in length. The racing takes place in 10 various classes with up to 10 cars starting on a straight line grid and racing over  4-10 lap races. Thrills and spills are never far away!

All classes normally race through qualifying heats and finals and, if time permits, open races where different classes race against each other.

The social side of the sport is a very large factor in the appeal of Autograss. With many a Saturday evening spent with the aroma of  a barbecue and  the sound of beer cans clunking!
This just seems to emphasise the family nature of the sport encompassed by the fact that husband, wife and children can all compete in the same Poor class 1 mini!.

The main aim of Autograss is to be a cheap and affordable form of grass root motorsport.  At club level entry can be gained for as little as £250, although at the pinnacle of the sport cars can cost in excess of £15,000. Club Membership and Race licences are available for men, ladies and juniors at around £40.

The beauty of Autograss racing is that there are nearly 60 NASA affiliated clubs situated all around the country, all of which put on club meetings .  Therefore, each weekend you are usually spoilt for choice,  on where to go race!.
